Meet Our Guides:
Hunter Brown: Hunter grew up shooting, hunting, and
fishing with his father as often as possible. They even took trips to Africa
together. He enjoys guiding so that he has the opportunity to be outdoors
enjoying his hobbies while helping other to learn. Some of his other
interests include soccer, skiing, and traveling.
Nathan Flowers: Nathan has been guiding fly fishing
and hunting on the ranch for four years after growing up on a horse ranch in
Buena Vista, CO. He prefers Sage Fly Rods and Ross Reels and enjoys teaching
others about hunting and fishing. He is lucky; his main hobbies include
hunting, fishing, and hiking… all things he gets paid to do! Nathan is also
our resident shedhunter.
Mike Hess: Mike attended guide and packing school in
Montana and has put that education to use on the ranch since 2002. You’ll
find Mike at our shooting sports complex where he enjoys meeting new people
from all walks of life. In addition to fishing and hunting, Mike also is
a great guitar player and has a new German Shorthaired Pointer named, Cody.
Gabe Kennedy: Gabe started guiding big game hunts for
the ranch in 2003 and has quickly become a major asset to us. He is the
youngest guide on staff, but don’t let his age fool you. He has more
knowledge of fishing and hunting that most people twice his age. He started
guiding mainly for the opportunity to be outdoors and help teach others.
David Lucero: David has been hunting longer than he
has been walking… he got his first bow when he was born. He has turned his
lifelong passion into a career and it definitely shows in the way he handles
himself and his clients. In 2002, he guided one of our clients to the
biggest elk on the ranch – a 320 class 6x6. He also guides bird huts with
his black Lab, Daisy.
Jeremy Smith: Jeremy grew up in North Carolina,
attended college in West Virginia, then guide and packing school in Montana.
He guides both fly fishing and big game hunts on the ranch. He wants to
promote his love for the outdoors by teaching others. At night, you can find
him picking his guitar or mandolin.
Ryan White: Ryan lives in Pennsylvania but has spent
the last few summers in Buena Vista. There, he learned to fly fish and
now is passing on his knowledge to others. Look for him guiding anglers,
but don’t be surprised to see him breaking clays on our sporting clays course.
